To meet the shifting needs of the VUCA world, leaders need to reinforce functional competencies alongside values and ESG (Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance) policies. Empathy is also necessary. If you want to keep your people engaged during these times, you need to understand how they feel. Empathy works in both directions: leaders need to understand and empathize with those around them, and employees need to empathize with their leaders.
